  7.     To what on earth can I compare your eyes?
  8.     To priceless gems of opalescent hue?
  9.     Or Morning Glories sparkling with dew
  10.     In dawn's virginal, sacred paradise?
  11.  
  12.     To stellar planets glowing in the skies?
  13.  
  14.     Does this world hold twin beauties
  15.     Rarer than your gentle eyes?
  16.     Can any living man gaze into them
  17.     Without a storm of sighs?
  18.  
  19.     Some things exist which are beyond compare;
  20.     Beyond our puny powers to surmise
  21.     Their essence ... worth--
  22.     And of these are your eyes....
  23.  
  24.     My helpless heart wonders what's lurking there--
  25.     Within their depths--which can so mesmerize,
  26.     And thrill it, with an ecstasy so rare.
